Have you ever wondered how God is Jesus
and Jesus is God, but they’re different?
Have you ever tried to be “all in” with your
faith, but still have the occasional doubt about how this can all work?
Are you not necessarily a Scripture
Superstar, but still want to know God and love Him better?
Then, darlin’…you are in the right place.
I wasn’t trying to a petulant child of God ... it's just in my
nature. I didn’t have to
know the ins and outs of my faith. I was trying my best to just have faith with
my faith. But there were some nagging questions in the back of my mind. ‘How does this
all work?’ ‘Am I on the
right track?’ ‘Will this get
easier?’ ‘Do I have
something to give?’ It felt like my faith couldn’t grow while these frustrations still held firm.
Sound familiar? What are the questions
that you have for God? It’s ok to ask! When I was able to enter into a conversation
with Jesus and ask my questions, I was blessed with a small amount of
enlightenment about how the system works.
I’m kind of like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, which is ironic
since I live in Kansas. Dorothy always had the power to go home. She just
needed a gift … awareness.
It’s a big
misnomer that the magic was in the shoes. Watch the movie again. Glenda reminds
her that she always had the ability, she just had to learn it for herself.
We are on a journey, one that was
determined for us before we even knew to sign up. Our ruby red slippers are the
words of God that will guide us home; home to our ultimate gift, the Word of
God, Jesus.
There are blessed folks amongst us that
know the scriptures back and forth. They can quote and give references faster
than anyone. What a blessing. But I, alas, am not one of those people. I love
the words of God and try to study them often. But I also understand that they
can scare some of us who are just trying to develop a stronger faith. I’m easing
myself into that water. Dip a toe with me and don’t be afraid.
We can use the words, but I’m genuinely
interested in you getting to know The Word… my man, Jesus. He’s the Way, the Truth and the Life. It’s not just a
catchy saying… it’s for real.
If you want to get closer to God, Jesus is the way. If you feel that you’re not on the
right path in life or if you don’t know which way to turn; check with Jesus, He’ll tell you the
truth. Life was given to us as a result of Jesus and it’s eternal
life that Jesus wants us to deserve. He’s quite a guy – but we’ll talk more about Him later (and I can’t wait!) What
I can tell you is that Jesus has been in touch.
Awareness awaits here for you. You might
have to dig in a bit to receive it. Let yourself go – no one is
watching except an excited Gardener, a Vine and some Hope. Intrigued? How I
pray that may be. Your tree is ready to grow -- let's let the son shine in!
